“Letterbox Gallery” is an art project designed to humorously critique elitism and fraud in the art world. By founding a gallery that exists only as a physical mailbox in Vienna’s 1st district, the project hosted 31 consecutive solo shows in one day, offering artists the chance to add a “Blue-Chip Gallery” exhibition to their résumés while questioning the authenticity and value of such institutions.

Blue Chip

Originally, the compound adjective “blue-chip” was used in a business sphere to define companies or low-risk investments that can be trusted and are not likely to fail.
